And I need to get it replaced. My friendly local mechanic (known him for years) is quoting £275 plus VAT just for the part! I guess that is for a complete downpipe with the catalytic converter. Can I get just the flexi? If so, where from?Paul :-)

Anyone tried it ???
I can get the complete part inc cat flexi etc for £211 inc vat it that is any better news?
^^ That eBay item won't fit my 3.2 V6, apparently - according to the listing. :-( Blue estate, you have a PM. Thanks, chaps. :-D Paul
I think my friendly, trusted, independent mechanic is going to let in a new coupling for me. He is going to get measurements when he can get my car back on the hoist. I won't get it back today but it should be back on song tomorrow. The coupling's been failing over a few weeks. It was noisy on initial start up and worst when the engine was cold but it got progressively more 'throaty' on my trip into work this morning. Paul
Can you not get ones made up from 'Powerflow' type places?
I am wondering now whether a new down pipe assembly - pipes, flexi, catalytic converter, etc. - might be a better bet in the long run than a repaired flexi, especially as I would save on labour charges. What do you guys think? Paul
