40,000 mile service help

hi all im i have a 2.2 vectra auto on a 06 plate ive had the car since last month yet in my service book there is no stamps to say its had any services. its now done 45,000 miles so i rang vauxhall today and was quoted £189 all in for a 40,000 mile service. is this a good price and what will it cover thanks

probably only the same as any major service:
oil & filter, plugs, air & fuel filter, and brake fluid.

hi i think the brake fluid change is extra cost i had the 40.000 done on mine and all they did was a service and changed the oil and filter and pollen filter they didnt change the air filter and fuel filter mine is a diesel i paid extra for brake fluid change i think that was 24.00

ok thank you ill book it in. also do you know if and how much vauxhall charge to check the car over as the warrenty ends in april and i would like everything checked and replaced under warrenty before it runs out

Certainly better than mine.

My 150 goes in for its 40k or 2 yr service whichever comes first, in my case the 2yrs on 1st December at the stealers in Worcester.
Its the first date they can loan me a courtesy car, their price for a 2 years service is £239 :-(
Bearing in mind they charged about £140 quid for its 20k, what extra do they do on this 2 year service to justify the extra dosh.

Phone the dealer who sold the car to the first owner and ask if they serviced it - if you can piece together some evidence of past servicing it'll help come resale time - if it looks like your car didn't have an oil change for 45000 miles, that's bad news.

40k and no oil change?, that aint good! I would have had 4 oil changes by then! surely it would have had at least 1 or 2?
just had my 2nd annual service on my 06 1.8 and it was 175 quid. mind you I have to go back to get them to put the right oil in tomorrow!a major ( not interim ) service should be all the filters & brake fluid & plugs changed, and brakes discs/pads/shoeschecked and coolant checked, as well as the so called inspection .......if they bother........
Surely your brakes must be shot by now if youve done 40k on the same pads?
