Default Is it okay to / safe to

Drive around in Limp Home Mode

My car is in Limp Mode due to a problem with an actuator in the exhaust system which isn't opening properly (VX words not mine) which is basically bring the emission system light on and putting the car into limp mode (phew not my tuning box as I first worried).

But the part is on 7 - 10 day back order, I have already had to do 250 miles in it like this, and easily need to do another 350ish before they get the part.

It's hard work driving it like this, and not much fun in rush hour traffic either. I just wanted to know if this was okay

    Cheers

You are entitled. You cannot drive around in limp home mode. It is for what it says, Limping home. I got a courtesy car while mine was VOR due to the wiper linkage failing and the part being on backorder. During the time I was waiting, My car was on the drive, The wifes Punto was on the drive and so was the rented Vectra they got me, so It's not a case of you can use it while the part comes in. They are obliged to sort you out if the car can be considered VOR, which I believe in its current state, it is.

Any BS from them, give me a shout, I'll put you onto a blike a few of us know!

You are entitled one with the network q warranty if the garage don't have one to give you. You may have to pay a refundable deposit if it goes through Net Q. You could argue that mind.

    Default Amazing !!!!!

Ring up, ask for a courtesy car as I think I am entitled, told they would phone me back.

Phoned me back and they have "managed" to get the part from another dealership and can do it Monday, and they are picking my car up from my house and dropping it back as they haven't got any sparwe cars for 2 weeks

It's amazing what can be done when they think they have to put their hand in their pocket

    Cheers

well at least you've got your car being repaired alot sooner than what you thought, even if you have to lose it for a few days.
