    Default Safe

Hi, I have just fitted a new thermostat on my 1.9cdti. Whilst doing so I took the opportunity to decoke the throttle body, egr and boost sensor. When I started it up it fired up first time and is a lot more responsive and feels a lot smoother to drive. I'm happy with it.
However the word safe has poped up on the dash.

Does this mean it is in safe/limp home mode?
The car drives really well, I suspect it is not in limp home mode but could be something else.
Will it "learn" and reset itself or is it Opcom time?
    Any ideas welcome
    Mike

Safe is displayed when the radio code is required, usually due to power loss ie disconnecting the battery.
The code can be found on the CarPass if you have one, if not its £20 from the stealers.
AFAIK the car will will learn and adapt to the changes.

SAFE is purely for the radio code to be re-keyed in.

As said above, this will be on the red and white audio / security pass (cardboard credit card type thing)

Just look in your audio manual for key code inputting procedure...

any engine problems will be denoted by the engine symbol staying lit-up on the dash more than say 10 seconds after starting up...

In answer to this, when doing Mike's Temperature Sensor,
It was noted that the SAFE issue has been sorted.

However it is believed that the radio CDR2005 and screen have a different code to the Car, as it was not possible to enable his fog-lights.. (Pass Code Not accepted)
