    Default CDC40 DAB safe

Hi, I upgraded my CD30 to the 6 disc CDC40 with DAB radio some time ago. At the time of installation I didn't have the DAB aeriel or module. I have since then fitted these parts and followed the instructions I received with the parts. I took my car to my local VX dealer where the technician tried to Tech2 the module to work. The display showed DAB SAFE and the DAB radio signal would play for a few seconds, silent for a few seconds, this happened all the time.
Any advice on this problem would be greatly appreciated.
I don't know if the technician knew what he was doing.
    Thanks

Did the wording DAB flash on for a few seconds at a time, or did it stay displayed constantly.

flashing dab means that it needs marrying to the radio and display.

constantly displayed DAB SAFE means that the module has not been unpaired from the previous vehicles radio / display.

if it is still paired to the previous vehicle, then you will need someone to over-write the Eeprom to return it to transport / unpaired state..
Then it can be programmed into your radio / display.

If it is flashing safe, then the technician has failed to program it in correctly...missed off some modules, or did not input the correct vehicle model code.

Cheers, If I remember correctly it flashed DAB SAFE, it wasn't on constantly.
If it needs overwritten on the eeprom how is this done, is it done via tech2?
As I said earlier I don't think that the guy who was working the tech2 knew what he was doing.
When I went along with the radio and screen to be installed he asked if the 6disc changer was going to be fitted under the seat or in the glovebox. He didn't know that the CDC40 has this built into it.
    Thanks

You must find a local electronics workshop to read the internal eeprom. CDC40 must have 95640 or 24C64 smd eeprom and DAB I don't know, must search it inside !

Returning to the fact that it only flashed SAFE and probably pinged or beeped, then this does NOT need the eeprom rewriting. Therefore you don't need to worry about this.

It just needs a decent tech 2 operator...There are very few around who can do this properly, you may have to look around for an alternative vauxhall dealer or independent specialist.
