Default 1.8 VVT hesitant to rev after idling

Hi all, I bought a 57 plate Vectra SRI estate with the 1.8 VVT engine back in feb. 68k on the clock VX FSH. I love the car but I've noticed a slight intermittent issue.

If I leave the car idling for more than a few minutes, like waiting at a drive through or car wash, when I then drive off the car starts hesitating to rev, and it struggles to get up to 70. It's still drivable but noticeably less powerful. If I turn off the engine, leave it a few seconds, and then start it up again that seems to solve the problem. I have recently changed the coil pack and plugs which I hoped would solve the problem, but it has happened since.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated ☺️

Have you looked in the engine section I’d think something like that might be in there?

My advise would be to wait until it happens than check the ecu for a dtc... don't turn the car off as it might wipe it as when you restart it goes back to normal... could be a simple intermittent short to ground on a sensor or a sensor slowly giving up, probably a cranksensor, or camsensor that is causing the problem but it could be something different like the throttle position sensor acting up, or the VVT mechanism getting stuck or the egr is sticky etc etc etc .. so again i advise you to have the ecu readout...

I found this one that seems similar. Not sure they solved it though

I have an ODB2 reader, so will try it out next time it happens. There weren't any codes last time I checked (I didn't know they could reset though), but I think the reader is pretty limited (NEXPEAK NX301). I guess I could bite the bullet and ask vauxhall to scan it.

Or put a regional post up and see if someone can read the codes for you.
