Default CDC 40 "headunit safe" anyone in northeast with Tech2 to pair to vehicle?

Hi, I currently have 2 Vectra c's both with CDC 40 units. I needed to swap the units and colour screen from one car to another so that i could get rid of one. I have succesfully divorced and set up the mono screen in the car i am getting rid of and I have successfully installed the colour displai into the new vehicle but in the process the head unit is now showing as "headunit safe". Is there anyone in the northeast ( Sunderland ) area with Tech 2 who can sort this? I have the car pass and codes for both vehicles.

You used opcom for it? Opcom should divorce both (EHU and DIS) at the same time. Then, if you have the codes, just activate theft protection in new vehicle.

Hi thanks. The head unit is divorced and showing as in transport mode but when I try to activate to new car Opcom states programming successful but it does not activate it. I need someone with Tech 2 in my area to activate it for me. Of course I will pay for their time as I have contacted the dealer who wants £99 for programming it.

Does it asks for security code? You need to enter code from new car, not the donor if you divorced it

Hi, yes it does ask for the security code and I am putting in the code for the new car that it is fitted to. Opcom states that programming is successful but the head untit stops in transport mode.

Can you exit transport mode by pressing and holding "eject" for 10 seconds?

Just check that the timer isn’t running as it sometimes kicks in even with correct codes. So you’ll have to leave ‘on’ till timer it has finished then retry.

From memory the CID must be put into delivery mode as well as head unit. If not it will not accept a different head unit.

Thanks for your posts, I had it to a local audio specialist yesterday who has tech 2 and he could not get it to activate, he said he has not seen it before and he has done hundreds. It just stops in transport mode and will not activate. Just as a matter of interest, how long does the timer run for?

From 10s going up to more than 24h. Each wrong try means more drama.
Wad mid speed can correctly programmed on new vehicle? I bet no!!!
