what is this spring? found it rolling under my feet

was driving earlier and found this under my pedals rolling around is it the clutch spring? if so how does it fit

i had a look under the dash and couldnt see were it came from but i found this plug i guess this is why my cruise control has never worked?

That should be 'Return Assembly, Clutch Pedal' .... the spring is replaceable (93183937) should you not already have a replacement fitted. With a bit of feeling about you should be able to feel the two mounting points going vertically from the rear of the clutch pedal and with a good spring fitted, it'll be held in place by the spring pressure.
