    Default New feet today

Swapped the backs and fronts a few weeks ago to get the max life from tyres. Had to do the dirty deed today and bought 4 x contis (sport contact 3) W XL rating 225/45/17 (first time I have gone down the 225 route).

At £450 from “you can’t get better than” I recon they gave me a good deal when you include fitting/balancing etc. (they are around £90 online) – they did not have any 215s in stock and did not offer as good a tyre for the price of the 225s

It’s funny (I like the standard GSi wheels), people have managed to pick up new wheels and relatively new tyres for between £400 and £500 quid – I’m probably mad.

It’s also a fairly significant event – it’s the 1st time in something like 3 – 4 years that I have bought a new set of tyres and the balance is perfect.

The guy would have given me 4 x Mitchelin 225/45/17 for £475 but he only had 2 - you don't seem to get deals on the 50s'
