Evening all.

With the cost of insurance going through the roof I've been dreading thinking about what mine will be when I change. I did my quote on the Aviva website on the car as standard, no mods and it came back as £2736. However it was higher if I put my number plate in. I clicked on I do not know the numberplate and put the details in that way, that is how I got the price down.

I then did the same quote again with a £300 performance exhaust, £150 uprated brakes, £150 tints and a £50 air filter. The quote price didn't change. So I refreshed it and made a minor adjustment to the excess to make sure it had adjusted. Still the same.

So for people that were trying by putting in their numberplate, try without and putting the details in manually. My car comes up as an Elengance model if I go by numberplate with Aviva but on other sites it was waaay more expensive doing it that way. I did the whole thing legit with the correct details, me as main driver and policy holder, 3 points, 18, 1 year NCB, mother on the policy too.
