    Default Insurance through Aviva

    Evening all.

With the cost of insurance going through the roof I've been dreading thinking about what mine will be when I change. I did my quote on the Aviva website on the car as standard, no mods and it came back as £2736. However it was higher if I put my number plate in. I clicked on I do not know the numberplate and put the details in that way, that is how I got the price down.

I then did the same quote again with a £300 performance exhaust, £150 uprated brakes, £150 tints and a £50 air filter. The quote price didn't change. So I refreshed it and made a minor adjustment to the excess to make sure it had adjusted. Still the same.

So for people that were trying by putting in their numberplate, try without and putting the details in manually. My car comes up as an Elengance model if I go by numberplate with Aviva but on other sites it was waaay more expensive doing it that way. I did the whole thing legit with the correct details, me as main driver and policy holder, 3 points, 18, 1 year NCB, mother on the policy too.

    Paul_SRi150 comes to mind!

lol i managed to get it for 1800 with admiral, declaring all relevant mods (wheels, stereo, front splitter etc)

aviva used to be not bad TBH, insured my B GSI and landrover discovery through them, sad how they drive (excuse the pun) loyal customers away with stupid prices!

I was with NU for years then they just doubled my premium, no reason why just market prices so I left them.
My gf works for Aviva as Project Manager and even with staff discount her insurance is still more expensive then most market prices!

Same. Aviva were mental high for me on a standard car! Possibly the 3 points were a killer.

Yeah aviva made me laugh. Did an online quote and even with the online discount they quoted me £2380 fully comp, 26, 4 ncb, no claims, driving 7 years. They called me an hour after the quote to ask what I thought about the quote and if I was happy to accept it haha.
    Swiftcover was cheapest at £762
