Picked up a puncture on the way to work last night, never noticed until I got to work as the wheel trim was hanging off. Car did not handle any different, well was barely able to manage more than 25-30mph due to the conditions so not a clue where it happened. Thought it must have just happened as the tyre was not completely flat so swapped it for the space saver, and could clearly see a screw head in the middle of the thread So went to get it sorted today and the guy at national tyres said he couldn't repair it as the cords on the inside were showing and I needed a new tyre!!!!!! Im so blooming annoyed because the tyre had only done 2500 miles on the rear, was like new!!! Then to top it off they couldn't get one to match the other 3 So not one to be taken in but not much I can do, im not prepared to run around on a space saver so buy a new tyre, but I take my old tyre back as im going to get a second opinion. The cords on the inside of the tyre are barely showing in a couple of areas of the tyre. Its about time I got myself a spare full sized wheel anyway so if I can get it repaired i'll use it as a spare.
Do we have any tyre guys here, anyone know how bad it should be before it should not be repaired. I will get some pics of the damage.
Oh and to top it off he tried to sting me for carcase disposal even though I took the old tyre away!!!!
