Hi all
I would like to know if there is a software upgrade to allow both rear fog lights to work on my 52 Vectra?
Failing this are there any suggestions??
Cheers

You can wire it straight across from the drivers side, the bulb is even in there !! Easy mod....
Are you saying that there's only one fog light on a Veccy-C? Hey, this might save me the effort of trying to get to what I thought was a duff bulb!
Yes, you'll see that many new cars, not just Vx, only have one working fog light. It's some European thingy, I think to do with safety or whatever. Easier to distinguish that it is a fog light that is on, as opposed to brake lights apparently! The working one is always on the offside, iircOriginally Posted by Lloydy
On the Vec C/Signum the holder and bulb is all there, just not the wiring. In fact the manual states that the bulb in the non-working side is a spare!
I know people have wired up the spare side, but I thought they then lost Check Control for the fog light bulbs? Itself, not really a big deal given how many times rear fog lights get used in this country!

Yeah, I probably only use them about once a year! I'm not too bothered about just having one light, its just that the guy who fitted my SmartNav unit pointed it out to me when he did his pre-install checks, and these bulb are not easy to get at to check them.Originally Posted by Duncan
Thanks for the enlightenment!
I would advise against wiring this up. I agree with a comment aove about safety and seeing more clearly when brake lights come on, as the brightness contrast would be much greater on near side cluster than off side cluster.
Duncan is spot on with the safety thing being the reason for the one fog light, however it is not an offence under construction and use regulations to have both working, nor is it an MOT failure to have both working. For the purpose of the MOT (not that it effects the vast majority of the cars on here), the fog light should be positioned anywhere from the centre rear of the vehicle to the off side rear of the vehicle.
Which model do you have.... they are easy to get to on the Hatchback.Originally Posted by Lloydy
I had to contact Vx Customer Care direct and the 'bull' was so evident it was smelling so much.
The assistant told me that the one fog light only works on the RHS because the other one acts as a back up.
Not wanting to be a doubting Thomas I had a duff bulb and placed it in the O/S light.......and guess what.......NOTHING. We wuz conned!!
Vx speaks with forked tongue and it is bull. I have sent and email today and will wait patiently for a response from their tech guru's that is manageable to swallow.
Sod the lot of them

they all talk cak.

but, it wouldnt be too hard to make it switch over to the other light if it wer to blow as a backup, infact, i might just do that.
