    Angry F.A.O Halifax bankers

Just to make you all aware if you haven't read your letters correctly. As from the 6th Dec if you use an arranged overdraft it will now cost you £1 per day. What a rip off!!!!

I have 2 accounts with the halifax, plus mortgage, ISA, credit card etc and have been a loyal customer for the last 20 years and this is the way they treat you.

So from going from £7-8 a month overdraft charges, its now gonna cost me up to £62 on a 31 day month.

I've just in the process of changing to First Direct who's an arm of HSBC and if you stay under £250 of a £500 arranged overdraft there is no charge at all

look into IF.com (part of Halifax). I am sure I don't pay anything for my £1,000 o/d facility other than a small amount of interest when used, but not £1 per day.

    Ouch. I bank with RBS.
Would never cross the threshold of the Halifax again, after they screwed up a cash transfer (between 2 Halifax accounts) and lost the money for a couple of weeks. Not even an decent letter of apology.
When I requested the details of the DD's on my current account so I could leave they froze the account. The first I knew about it was when my mortgage provider rang to ask why I had not paid the mortgage that month.... Standard company practice I was told.........Compensation not a chance.

That is one move you will NEVER regret fella!!! First Direct never fail to surprise me with the amazing service they provide!!! Every time I call the person who answers can deal with the query/request - none of this automated menu or passing to other departments cack!!!

    Enjoy

As a HSBC worker i'd recommend Us or FIRST DIRECT. check any independant website and although we charge, we are the lowest and its only for you naughty people who go over your agreed limit by more then £10 (i'm £120 over one of mine however )

The brochure regarding halifax changes got past round work by a mate who banks with em, i liked how it made out they are doing you a favour scrapping fee's!! then £1 a day would only work out cheaper if the O/D was nearer £2000 i think we worked it out ha ha...
