    Default Automatic Gearbox problem

    Hello,
first sorry for my english.. i'am from Czech..
    About problem:
I have Signum 2.2Dti 7/2003 and problem is, that my automatic gearbox (AF 23 5/53 5) put to some temporary mode adn shifting only 2 and 5. I was on diagnostic and have this errors:

P700 - some error on AT controll
P715 - AT input speed circuit No signal
P1700 - transmision indeterminate failure (field to neutral)

I found that helped changing of input speed sensor, but they have only one error code P717.
Have you seen anyone of you this problem?
    thx for info Tomas

have you had someone check the colour of the gearbox fluid. They have a habit of the oil cooler leaking and letting water into the gear box and destroying it. If the fluid is red its ok, if its pink its bad news.

Had same fault codes on mine, except P1700 is service request acording to OP-COM, fluid looked ok, if anything maybe pink depends on how pink red fluid actually is, took it to Vxl turned out to be both input and output sensors.

Don't go worrying about a new gearbox untill all the other avenues have been checked!!!

    Default Auto box

Just a small be wary thing! I had same things on 2002 Vectra dont be fooled by the speed sensor, I replaced it and three months down the line find out its moisture in the transmission, and its expensive!!!
Search links on here and check out links for the A23 transmission
I found out a lot of information on here and if I had found it out before I bought my Vectra .......I wouldnt have bought it!!!

What JimNZ said. I had exactly the same problem. Sensor changed, thought problem was cured and then it went again a few weeks down the line. That is how I found Vec-C and also like JimNZ if I had known about the problem before I bought the car I wouldn't have bought it. It turned out to be contaminated geabox fluid which cost me £1800 to put right.

Yep! sounds about right, moisture! going through same problem at the moment. VX garage was meant to have fixed mine two month ago! on tech 2 for 3hrs! they upgraded my comp! went again, now its worse. average 1500 to fix. trying to get cash out of VX for negligence as they should of known about the problem as these 2.2 vectra/signum were on recall at some point because of this prob. Any 1 know a Scotland garage who can fix? as most seem to be south!! as every one else should of done research as wouldn't of got 1. now a top of the range car ready for scrap heap

Are these known common problems on Pre facelift models only or are there known faults on the facelift models also?
