Why do people take the P*ss?

Had a guy come round to see the car. He had 2 options, £8495 with 18's or £7995 with standard alloys. The Latter, makes it the cheapest C on the autotrader website.

Most people are prepared to knock a few hundred off, so why does he come and offer £7800 to include the 18's?? thats £700 down on the asking price, despite him saying he'd looked at 4 and mine was by far the nicest.

As you can expect, i refused and told him to go buy one of the others he'd seen. He walked away empty handed and me with no sale. I hope this isnt a sign of things to come.

put urself in his shoes,,, wouldnt you try and get it as cheap as possible, afterall, it was less then 10% off the asking price he was offering,

I think I would be inclined to agree. He will know (should know) that it is a lot of car for little money. He'll have to go a long way to find a better example. Tell him to look in the wheel arches of all the others that he views LOL

I dont think he will be back, from what he was saying it sounds like he always offers silly money and always sells his cars for silly lose too. Just the way he does things.

Its only been on the trader website for 3 days, doesnt go in the mag till thursday where it will be for 2 weeks so theres plenty of time yet

you always get them.i had them with my v6 vec b "you won`t get better offer " etc.load rubbish still sold it for what i wanted though.
people like that sum up car sellers life,just to nark you off and get you .
you want the best price for it,buyers want it for the cheapest price.
