The way i done it in my cav and senator when i had them was i took the boot carpet out and used that as a template to cut out some MDF as a base to mount the subs on then i used battening round the edge and in the middle to support hardboard cut out the same shape covered in carpet.

18mm MDF, use the boot carpet as a template, just cut it smaller otherwise it won't fit. Then it depends how you want to mount everything, I would mount the sub box underneath into the spare wheel well with the amp/amps on top and then another panel to go over it with either a cutout or fan for cooling.

Got a false floor in mine used original carpet and made it slightly smaller. Fun putting in but it does fit in one go but you have to take out the parcel shelf can post pics up if wanted currently runs 2x15" subs which just fit in lol. Then to make top section do slightly bigger.
