The SD1 was a very underrated car, especially when built "properly".
A mate has a beyond TVR spec engined V8 Vitesse with four Dellorto carbs and nitrous - seriously quick car (when it gets traction!).
I had the Rover P6 3500 V8 for a couple of years as a rolling project but got fedup of it and sold it but now wished I still had it
more room in the back of an SD1 than anyother car on the planet.......
friens of my dad's had a vanden plas v8 iirc......great great car
as featured in the film, ( rita sue and bob to ) lol....i have always liked them![]()
My old man had a 2600 straight 6. Not the awesome V8, but smoother than smooth.
Is this why certain police forces stock piled them when the production run ended??
I have the mighty 3.5 L Rover V8 in my other car.
a friend of mine had one. it got progressivley tattier, less electical things worked, it leaked in everwhere when it rained, eventually the autobox went, so he scrapped it. the car was only 6 or 7 years old at the time.
The car i first learned to drive in........![]()
If I had the money at the time, I was offered the Rovertech Racing SD1 uprated engine and suspension, it was awesome
still the best looking car in my eyes![]()
