    Default Canbus?

Sorry for the silly question but can someone tell me what a canbus is?
I see it comes up a lot when talking about new head units.

    Thanks

i remember asking this Q a while ago after seeing the word on here. that link is quite a good one.

i have often wondered what the benefit of CANbus is to me, the driver. no other cars i've had use this system, and my C doesn't do electiccy things any....er....better than those cars, if you get my drift.
then i read para a) which reads -

    (a) Significant reduction in wiring leading to:-
    (i) Significant reduction in manufacturing cost and hence retail cost.

yeah, that'd be right, that's the real bonus of the system i bet....
