    Default Priceless Skoda

A fella on Briskoda has had his new Superb for 10 days and there is a fault with the tyres, so as you would he's contacted Skoda UK who've as usual passed the buck by telling him to bone Pirelli about it, what a laugh, 18k car needing £100 cost to Skoda tyres and they are so stupid they are prepared to him off over it, and I thought it was because mine was a second hand one, I don't deal with them anymore, I use VW now as the car is based on their car anyway.

Got to love Skoda UK. They may as well have an answering machine on the end of the phone with a recorded message:

"Thankyou for calling Skoda UK. We're sorry no-one is available to answer your call, because you cheaped out and didn't buy a real Volkswagen. We can't help you because you're too stupid and we really don't care." *click*

That's not far from the truth tbh, the lady I spoke with from SUK was awful, she took a stern tone with me and informed me they weren't going to take any further interest in the matter, it's a shame really cos the cars are very good, but nobody who works in the dealers seems to either know how to fix one or be interested about it.

We've had a few problems with the Octavias at work, from silly electrical gremlins to the engines falling out (really, onto the road). When they're going, they're good cars. When they go wrong they really do go wrong with a big bang.

Is that the engine mounting failure and resulting intrusion into the timing cover?

That's the one. One the engine actually fell to the road. Was a real mess, think it ended up written off, front came out of her, engine went in under the floor, tore the chassis leg out and all.
