For the same money, thats very tricky indeed - something older, less equipped and with more mileage probably

only had my car a few months, but when i was looking, i was very interested in an X type jaguar also. the only snag being that there only seemed to be a choice of a 2.5 litre v6 petrol, or a 2.0 or 2.2 diesel engine - neither of which appealed that much. plus, i need 5 doors, so i would have had to have chosen the estate, and i didn't really want an estate car. quite liked Audi A4s, but 99% are diesels, and again, the choice is 4 door or estate. just sold a mondeo, and although it was a great car, didn't want another straight away. quite liked lagunas, but didn't want to pay much for one as they depreciate so much. even looked at a C class merc, but it was a diesel estate....
really, for what i needed, and in my budget of £5k-ish, there wasn't a huge choice oddly.

Im going to get shot for this, but and a very big BUT, IF I didnt drive a Vx I would most probably drive a Mondeo. Not a big fan of Frauds, but I like the TDCI Zetec-S or ST.

As I drive a Vectra (allbeit a Vec-B), If I didnt have this, I would certainly look at the rest of the range before I jump ship, was very tempted with the Astra H SRI CDTI but it was a little more £££££££'s that what I could afford.

Also, wouldnt mind a Mazda 6 at some point, smart motor's!

I was looking at a similar priced and aged primera, which if it looked better I would have gone for, the kit on them as standard is fantastic and they are meant to be very reliable!

Probably an A3 though I'd have had to settle for an older car for the same money.
