M5 - Specs cameras??

Coming up the motorway this morning by the M42 Junction an towards 4, there seems to be what looks like specs cameras up, yellow things if i remember rightly.....

Not sure if they are live yet, or are there due to the roadworks that are due, but take it easy up that strech

Unless anyone knows different?

Oh yea slight accident this morning in outside lane just past Junc 5 with a ford Ka, an 2 others and the ppl were just milling around in the outside lane looking bewildered while traffic sped past....

Go live when the roadworks start. Heard it'll be a 40mph limit. Only lanes 2+3 though. Six months of it

It'll cut our trade no end.

i was down there the other day had to go to a place called malvern,did see these and they sheet me up,then i sa the NOT LIVE sign......phewwww

Yep, They'll be around the 'Birmingham Box' until around 2012, whilst ATM is being rolled out. i.e M42 J7-9, M6 J4-5, M6 J8-10 etc.
Then the HADECS camera's will take over in times of ATM.

Did you get the chance to have a look around the town, or go for a drive up the hills ( The Malverns) it is a very nice place for a day out. If you have a day out on the Malverns you will enjoy it, you might be "Knackered" if you walk the full lenght of the Hills. One of our "erm" members lives in that neck of the woods.

What are the HADECS camera's . I have not heard of those.. I don,t think.

no i didnt get chance to look around it was a case of get in and out quick, i was running out of hours in the truck and didnt fancy a over night down there.had to take a smashed up vw camper van down to a little garage,im based in leeds so it was quite a trek at 56mph ish.

'Highways Agency Digital Enforcement Cameras' They enforce the speed limit when under speed restrictions on the ATM controlled parts of the motorway.

They 'may' also be used to enforce the national speed limit, but as yet there are no plans to do this............
