Are you saying that the car WILL not move when you select 1st gear at all? If you selected 1st and held the clutch in, can the car be moved by pushing? Or is the gear just not engaging correctly? Have you tried a second gear pull off? Maybe 1st gear is fooked.

    I am in S-in-A too

If there is no drive in any gear then it is fairly terminal for either clutch, gearbox or diff.

Is it loud full on grinding or chattering?

Are the cables adjusted and working properly? In the engine bay you can see the gear link arm going into the gearbox, may be worth having a look to see if it moves far enough to engage the gears when you move the gear stick. It's ontop of the gearbox and is easy to see if it's moving far enough by manually moving it too from under the bonnet. there is an arm with a weighted end to assist gearbox gear selection.

It doesn't sound like clutch from what you say. Sounds like either adjustment / cable breakage or gearbox failure.

A second hand one would prob be best, for a guide price why don't you ring Mark Hill Salvage over at Kirkby.
