Default Im back in a Vectra again......

Well guys and girls , its been a few years since I owned my gorgeous white Vectra C . The one I owned was one of the 1st ones out , only a 1.8LS but had loads of extras which seems nowadays are all added options .
I sold the car around 2 to three years ago and ended up with a Mondeo tdci as the replacement .

Well Im still wondering what the heck I have done , but anyway have just collected my new ( used ) Vectra C . Ok its only a 1.8 again , but this is a VVC whatever that means ? Its an 06 Sri Nav model .

Ok its no speed king , but then im used to slow cars LOL . Seems like I will be taking part more often than not now on the forum . LOL I remember when this forum 1st opened when my wipers decided to give up on the drivers side , a plastic bag was all that was needed until a replecement was sourced . Im sure that temp. fix helped many of the older members here on the forum !

Does anyone here have a VVC 1.8 Vec C , what have you found reliability wise etc.......I would be interested to know . All be it a little late now as its allready here .

Best wishes and happy new year to all........... Mike .

Happy new year, and welcome back.

I've had my 1.8VVT for 2 months (2 months tomorrow) and have done just under 3000 miles in it. Goes well enough, and I get 36-38mpg out of it. There's a bit of an oil leak on the cam cover, but that's getting sorted under warranty.

I previously had a Astra Sporthatch 1.9CDTi chipped to 200hp - the Vectra is definately slower, but it's easier to keep the licence than in the Astra.

Thanks ZS . Well as I mentioned after the Vectra C , I ended up buying a mondeo TDCi the 130 model which pulled like nothing else . Then after that bought a ( dont laugh) Peugeot 407 HDi the 136 bhp model , that was a lot more powerfull than the Mondeo but terribly unreliable !

Im hoping the Vectra now will be ok for a few years ! !

Ah, an ex-Pug owner myself, had a 106 that was 25 times in the dealers in the first 18 months, traded that in for my first Astra and never looked back.

The 407 was a fantastic car dont get me wrong ! But spent far to much time off the road , it only had 40 odd thousand miles under its belt too !
