    Default Vauxhall Combo

Needing to replace the Escort van.

Within the age I am looking i have a choice of, 1.7di, 1.3cdti, 1.7cdti. Prob with about 40k on the clock.

Had a drive in the 1.7di today, was good enough for what i want.

Anyone know about these vans and the engines?

Looking for reliability over power and a half decent MPG.

    Cheers

    Vehicle : Vauxhall Signum

What kind of loads do you carry? My brother-in-law as a Combo 1.3cdti as part of his courior company fleet and he reckons its pretty good engine... very nippy too. If you were going to be carrying heavy loads then i would opt for the 1.7cdti.

standclear of the 1.7di... as far as I am aware its basically a slightly improved old isuzu 1.7TD unit... and i had one of those in my cavalier back in 1995.

They're a Corsa C with a cube on the back. My old work has a 1.7Di, 465kg payload. Went fine with a 1 tonne bag of gravel in the back (put the bag on a pallet and bunged it in, blew the tyres up to 60psi and away she went).

The 1.7Di is exactly the same as the 1.7DTi apart from a low pressure turbo and no intercooler. They drive very well.

Only faults is the common Corsa C fault, the electric power steering, though they always fail in the early Corsas and Combos in the first year so should be all sorted by now.

think i might be getting an xbox

cdti would be a high mileage on my budget, or a tidy di

dont like the thoughts of a cdti with high miles that has been thrashed about too much, loads of 1.3cdti's about, will need to get a drive in one

I've had a few DTi astra's, both the 1.7 and the 2.oltr, really good on MPG and also quite quiet and comfy if you end up driving them all day.. actually My Brother has just had his works DTi combo replaced with Berlingo, and he hates it!
