    Default LED strips

    hi, i installed my LED strips today, in the fog light area, and they look great

    but,... iv got an unexpected strobe effect for about 20 seconds after i lock the car up and when i unlock it

    wierd... whats going on ?

    If you have wired them directly into the OE wiring, then it is probaly being caused by the bulb failure checking system.

    i used to have led lights in my side lights that used to do it to , ended up just changeing them in the end

    yep they dont like LED's. They will be flashing while your driving aswell.

    i have exactly the same prob ,i have the LED's in mine , but still have the side light bulbs tucked away ,still working as not to put the failure symbol up , but when i go back to the car to disarm it i get the same thing even if the lights are off and the engine running i still get this tiny flicker.has anyone succsefully done this mod

    all you need is a small capacitor this will stop the flickering.
    the headlights get pulsed as part of the headlight checking system and this obviously causes them to flicker.
    i had same probs with my HID kit so i installed some capacitors and now prob solved.
    the only one down side you will have with LED's is they draw almost no current, so putting a capacitor in would stop the flickering but they would prob stay on for a little while after you have turned them off, just until they have drawn all the energy left in the capacitor..
