    Default Steering Wheel Controls

    Hi All

I Posted a thread a little while ago about the lights on my steering wheel controls which were going out when going round a roundabout. The Problem has now got worse. Whenever I use the indicator stalk, the illumination for the buttons on the steering wheel go out!! (and the come back on when the stalk goes back to centre). does anybody have any suggestions on which bits to remove to gain access? I REALY dont want to take the wheel / airbag off

    Thanks
    Pete

It's sounding like it may be the CIM module either faulty or a loose connection.

    Hi
Thanks for the reply!, Is the CIM module located in that general area of the steering wheel/cowel? is it an expensive part? It seems to me like a loose connection rather than a fault as its seems to be the physical movement of the indicator stalk which triggers it

    Cheers
    Pete

CIM is located behind the steering wheel, iirc,a few have had loose connections on it,so worth stripping it down and finding out,i haven't done it myself but know that Robbie69 has had the same fault, might be worth dropping him a pm........

As above - CIM is located where glen said and they're not cheap - about £300 fitted - so worth checking for any loose connections first before thinking about replacing it.
