constant squelling

help me please its driving me insane...

vectra c 2.2 sri

there is a loud screach/squeel coming from my front near side wheel. It is not there all the time and no pattern can be found. Have changed the wheels around and still happens, have checked with mech mate of mine and worked the wheel (with wheel off and it still there) and removed and spun the bearing and no noise from that. When it happens it does not change pitch or volume depending on speed and only stops when the car stops but cuts back in at about 5 to 10 mph.


any ideas or tips to look at would be great.

Possibly a small stone caught between the caliper and disc/dust guard? That can make a gawd awful squeal.

we've tried all of that mate, when we stripped it out and also cleaned everthing trying to get rid of it.

Did you make sure the pads had plenty of copper slip on the rear of them?
