Engine Temp

Hi all, Just wondering what temp should my 1.8 sri be running at?
Running at about 70 at the moment

That sounds a bit low to me. You might need to change the thermostate. Perhaps someone with a 1.8 will be able to tell you what theirs is running at.

My 1.8 was running low at about 75c changed the thermostate for right one 92c, now runs, with no fan working at about 88c and up to 92c in traffic, then the fan cuts in. Manufactures normaly intend for the needle to point to the mid way point on the temp dial so that it is easy to read without looking for numbers.

my 1.8 runs at between 85 - 90

80-90 on mine

Change the thermostat and while you are at change the temperature sender at the same time as these are only a few quid. As everyone says the temp should be 80-90. Common fault with 1.8XE engine and all Vauxhalls

Thanks everybody, got a new thermostate will fit it tomorrow if it's not to cold lol
