Took my 2006 1.8nav life in to the stealers a week back for service. Asked them if they could unlock the BC functions with Tech2, was told couldnt happen on my model, checked with GM they said it could. Complained to stealers about this and this was their reply :
Thank-you for your e-mail regarding the re-programming of your vehicles board computer.
We always strive to provide the highest level of customer service and this includes the advice we give on the many queries we receive regarding technical issues. We have spoken to the GM technical assistance centre who have confirmed that although it may be possible to re-programme your Vectra to enable additional functions of the board computer, it is dependent on the level of equipment that is fitted to the vehicle. Understandably the Vectra Life is unlikely to be built with the same level of equipment as a Design etc. Attempting to programme a vehicle that has missing or incomplete monitoring systems would result in some loss of functions of the board computer and could cause false warning alerts. The technical assistance centre have also advised that your vehicle warranty may be affected by any changes that are made to the original settings which were programmed at production.
We cannot tell you if re-programming can be carried out successfully on your vehicle without actually running through the programming process, the cost of which would be £35.25 including VAT.
If I can be of any further help, or you wish us to attempt to reset your vehicle then please do not hesitate to contact me on 01443 824695.
Many thanks,
Nick Carter
Aftersales Manager.
