Just Filled Up

Just filled the tank to the brim with fuel, and computer is saying i am only going to get 298 miles

Is something sticking anywhere .....

Yep as said above, it has worked on the information given for your "latest" figures.. If you had just got off a long drive on the motorway and filled up the range would have been a lot higher.

As above, the range estimate is based on the driving style of your last 30 miles - so if that was a lot of urban driving or driving 'enthusiastically' then that would explain.

I for one don't believe any mpg figures the BC throws out. I always brim the tank, re-set the odometer, do say 300 miles, brim it again and work out the mpg with a calculator. Yes, it's usually less than the BC says but a truer reading IMO.

I do as gtr1000 does too, and find that the true figure is less but not too far out.

I must be lucky then - the trip computer in my Signum has been accurate to within 0.5mpg every tankful since I've had it. Very suprised - pleasantly so - because the BC in my old Vec was nowhere near!

I always get too optimistic just after filling up, last time I filled up the BC showed 508 miles but soon adjusted itself to about 450 and rapidly fell to about 390 miles by the time I got home, I usually get about 345 miles to 365 miles per tank full.

Your right m8, Range is slowly climbing, now am sitting at 378, and i have just done 40 miles on the m/way
