    Default Blanking off EGR Valve

    Does this actually work and would it work on the 1.9cdti thats in the Saab??

    My brother recently had to have his replaced in is Saab and i told him about this blanking plate,could if be used for the Saab and would the wiring be the same????

    Only works on the 2.2's i.e Z22SE petrol engines mate as far as I know.

    Yep mate work just fine on the 2.2 petrol (SE). But only on the 2.2 as the EGR works differently than any other lump. The ECU only monitors that the valve is working. Vocky makes the looms, in fact that will be one of his. He has a 1.9CDTI and said it wont work on that.

    i've blanked mine off its a 1.8 model an it seems to pick up earlier 2000rpm instead of 3000rpm

    Blanked mine off just before Xmas and had to fit the cheater as it's a 2.2 engine and has improved mine similarly.

    Yes you do mate but yours is water cooled on the direct. Its situated on the end of the lump opposite to the chain end. You can get VX to tech 2 it out.

    Do i have to clean it at any point ?? am a nOOb on these valves

    You can but we dont. The fix for a dodgy EGR on the 2.2 petrol is to blank it off and Tech 2 it out as its not needed for UK MOT. The same engine in the US doesn't even have one fitted. The guys on the 2.2 forum blank them off to improve airflow into the intake manifold, TBH its very common over there just to deactivate it.
