    Default Second service price

My car is just approaching 32K and is on the ecoflex 2 year service plan. It had its first service a little early at 15K and was due for its 2nd at 35K.

As im taking the car touring around Norway in 1 month i want the next service done before we go so have rung around for prices.

I expected it to be quite expensive but am a little concerned that ive only been quoted £152.

Is this right? They cant do much for that money, so what exactly do they do? How much has anyne else paid for the 2nd service

I paid nada for my last service (which was the second year service as the car was on the yearly service when I bought it - now switched to EcoFlex. I paid nowt because the dealer I bought it from messed me around fixing some niggles that were on the car - so I got my next service free. Now that I've had that they won't be seeing my car ever again!! - sticking to my very well trusted local dealer.

I do have the 'receipt' for the service, which included brake fliuid change, so I'll dig that out. From memory, it was a lot more than £150.

OK, the total 'cost' I have on the paperwork is £276.95 - but there are a couple of errors on it. They seem to have listed the oil twice!! (idiots) so that knocks off £22.90 + VAT, they also replaced the fuel filter and air filter which weren't due until 4 years/40K (but not complaining as I didn't pay for them) - so that knocks off another £18.95 + VAT. So it comes to somewhere around the £225 - as they also replaced the brake fluid which isn't part of the service, just recommended every 2 years.

I rang my local dealer (who I've used for years, just not that last service) and they quoted around £210 for the service you're talking about (and what I've just had).

So either you've got an excellent price, or they've quoted you wrongly. Get them to list what they're doing for that price and check it against the Schedule N (ECO-Flex) list in your service booklet. If you're staying on ECO-Flex, make sure they get the high grade oil. The dealer had to order it in as they rarely used it.

I was quoted £74.00 just for an oil change, so £152 seems like a bargain, I reckon I am due a 2nd service as well, cars feeling a bit rough, I had so much service light problems I cannot rely on it.
