    Default Damn Knocking Noise

    Guys.

    Im about to be driven mad by a knocking noise from the rear of my new car.

    I have removed everything from the boot and i still get the knocking noise when going over rough road/potholes

    I have pulled the back seats down and it stays the same.

    One thing i have noticed is that i have to seriously bang the hatch down to get it to lock, if i just let it fall under its own weight or a little thud it will not lock shut.

    Anyone got any experiance of this? How willing are VX to fix squeeks/rattles and bangs?

    Cheers

    I have to slam everything on my car to get it to shut. Bonnet, boot and especially the back seats, which you have to knock into the middle of next week to lock 'em in place. Whenever I put the dog in the back I can see him wincing from the effin great bang that's about to happen when I slam the hatch shut! Rubbish build quality, imo.

    I reckon if VX were readily willing to fix customers rattles they'd do nothing else!!

    My parcel shelf makes a kind of knocking noise on bumpy roads, comes & goes but i usually try and adjust the rubber stoppers on the inside of the hatch (that sit against the plastic bits on the end of the shelf when boot is closed) when i get really ****ed off with it !! May be something simple like this mate !?

    I have four different knocks and rattles in my car, I've yet to find the time to discover where they come from:

    One is in the headlining just behind the light console;

    One is in the O/S/R corner of the car and knocks every time I change into second, probably due to the vibration from the low revs;

    Two others I haven't found the source yet.

    They do my nut in, but hey, I turn my music up louder and they oddly vanish!

    I've had a knock since day 1. read a post on here somewhere about the small piece of rubber that sits on the rear hatch cover just below the window in the middle. Pulled it off and "Hey Presto" no more knocking.

    Edit. just found the link. http://forum.vectra-c.com/showthread...ght=rear+hatch
