    Default Just one more suspension question

    When undoing the bit from inside engine bay(torq/star nuts) do i need to remove all 4 or just the middle one ? Haynes say all 4 ?

    on the struts?...

    you undo all 3 outer torx bolts and remove the strut from the car... then , WHEN THE SPRING IS COMPRESSED, remove the inner big nut....

    DON'T DO IT ANY OTHER WAY.....

    Haynes manual.....doesn't sound like it's very clear does it..

    If u take them all out,you'll have springs flying all over the place!

    The haynes rear how to is perfect, front just trickier i think. So i undo the 3 outer ones, undo bottom nuts, then remove the whole lot. Put the compressers on and remove the middle one. And refitting is the opposite of removal yes ?

    Just make sure spring is well compressed and is free 2 move about before u remove top nut in suspension unit,damper piston will turn as u undo top nut so be sure 2 stop from turning!Good luck,it's handy enough!
