    major problems?..

Inlet manifolds let go of the swirl valve rod £400.. EGR valves give trouble ( no UK stocks at the mo)..Injector wiring issues..

TBH, you need to buy this car with a warranty.. when they are working they are great cars.. but if you get a rogue you'll be needing that warranty..the 4 cylinder 1.9's are hit or miss, you either get a corker or a dog.. so beware..

CDTi Engine apart, the vectra's are great cars..bomb proof and will absorb high mileages with ease...

it won't be changed yet.. it's not due till 80,000 BUT i'd get one on sooner than that...

unless you know where to look for the swirl rod i'll be hard pressed to explain it to you.. it's on the top of the inlet manifold under the plastic cover.. a bar with plastic balljoints on it..it should be clipped on, not laying loose..

another 'easy' tip to see if it's got any problems is not to be too hasty when you start it....

sit in, turn the key to posn2.. and watch the display in the tacho.. if a 'car with spanner' shows you know it's had a fault within the last 25 odd restarts ( fixed now or not).. if so, ask a few searching questions..

A Cdti for £5000 is good money.... there is a thread here in car chat about warrantys, so have a look around..
