heater blower
Hi Guys
proud new owner of a 2004 Vectra, had it about 4 months and very pleased so far. However the heater fan stopped working, only works on the 4 setting. From previous threads I guess this is the resistor at the motor. (floor is soaking and I removed a forest load of leaves from in front of the pollen filter). My question is to get at the resistor I believe I have to remove the glovebox, how do I go about that? and is there any danger of setting the airbag off? Any help much appreciated.

Hi. Do you know what the part number is for the resistor?
I have a 2002 52 2.0Dti Elite with dual zone climate. It has 7 fan speeds and none of them work. Is the resistor the same one as for lesser models?
Also, I'm ok with removing the glove box, but where is the resistor located?
many thanks.

Hi m8,
i think this may be the part number you are looking for: 9180020,
but best to check with VX, to be sure it is right for your model and year ! !

Heater Fan damaged.
Hi, I replaced the resistor after water got into the car. Only problem is that the fan seems to have been damaged by water (chirps like a budgie) and has blown two resistors. Obviously needs new fan which is very hard to access.

Good News
After booking my car into my local VX dealer, I decided to investigate the problem before actually taking the car in. I checked all the fuses and then removed the pollen filter to access the motor to check it freely spun. It didn't (probably debris from the filter), so after a little brute force to move it, it the spun ok. Ignition on and fan works ok. So very happy that it's fine.
I just wonder what the VX dealer would have done? They were talking new motor £225+fitting, regulator £130+fitting ..... or would they have done what I did???
Always worth having ago yourself I think.
