    Arrow 2.8 V6 Turbo Vectra

received this circular from VxSCC. Interesting.....

    DYNAMIC MAKEOVER FOR NEW VECTRA

    Key features
    > New 2.8-litre turbocharged V6 engine introduced
    > Ride and handling reengineered specifically for UK roads
    > Dramatic new styling and redesigned interior.

Sharper, smoother and more stylish - the wraps are off the New Vectra at last. The revamped model has been given a distinctive new look, a revised range of engines and significantly improved driving dynamics. It will reach UK showrooms in October.

It doesn't take long to spot the changes to the front of the car, which is all-new from the windscreen forwards. Bringing the range into line with the Vauxhall family look - which was first seen on the latest Astra - the bold style makes the New Vectra instantly recognisable. Other visual upgrades include new wheel designs, a reprofiled back bumper on certain models, and a contemporary range of new colours.

Inside, the interior has been enhanced with new materials to give an even greater sense of quality. The soft-touch facia material has a new grain and has been reshaped to give a more stylish look, while plush new seat fabrics, extra door trim inserts and a new instrument panel add more visual appeal. A smaller, sportier steering wheel not only looks better, but also enhances the sporty feel of the car on the road.

And it's not just the steering wheel which makes the New Vectra feel special to drive. Vauxhall's UK-based chassis engineers were given the seemingly impossible task of maintaining the current model's coveted refinement while improving steering feel and chassis control to make the Vectra even more rewarding to drive.

By developing the new model in the UK on British roads from the outset, the boffins have actually managed to exceed the brief by improving refinement in addition to transforming the driving dynamics.

To complement the revised chassis, a significant new engine has been introduced at the top of the Vectra range. Flagship Elite models are now powered by an all-new 2.8-litre turbocharged V6 mated to a six-speed auto gearbox. The big-sellers in the range will continue to be the award-winning 1.9CDTi turbodiesel units in both 120 and 150PS forms, and a new 1.8-litre petrol with an amazing 140PS will be available in spring 2006.

Prices and full details of the New Vectra range will be released in early July. Hatchback, saloon and estate models will all be available from launch.

There will be a manual 2.8 V6 Turbo, but in 250bhp form and only in the VXR Vectra.

regarding reliability issues, As we know the current car can be a little bit temperamental with the can bus system, but all 2005 model cars of the current shape Vectra C has a 'less' complicated system already, and the new facelift car will have an even more 'user freindly' can bus system.

I think Vauxhall/Opel have learnt from their mistakes.

not really, all the v6 engines made for the saab are in fact made at the astra plant in ellesmere port, as are the turbo units, hence if you look carefully at the vec c turbo lump it has saab printed on many parts!!

have they changed the stupid wiring set up or not, cos if not i wont be buying one thats for sure!!

I am afraid your incorrect . The new Saab 2.8 V6 engine IS the same as the new Vectra engine. it is not an Ecotec unit.

The Old 2.5, 2.6 3.0 and 3.2 V6 Ecotec engines were made at Elsmere Port and were used by Vauxhall and Saab.

The new 2.8 Turbo engine is developed by Holden and is totally different to the old family 2.5,2.6, 3.0 and 3.2 engines. As far as I aware, the new 2.8 V6 engine is not buil in the UK.

sorry m8, but i have it on very good authority (the ellesmere port V6 plant department manager) that the turbo V6 saab engine and the new turbo V6 vx engine are to be built side by side, your correct tho they are holden devolped engines.

My misunderstanding , teach me to read post's incorrectly!!!!

I thought you were saying the 2.8 Saab engine and VXR engine were different.

I am glad to here they are being built in the UK though, I know the first batch of engines for Saab were built in Australia, good to see the engine plant in the UK getting the work for the new engines as well.!!!
