    Default rear cigar lighter

Has anybody got a rear cigar lighter that has a permanent feed. Since buying the DVD thingy for the kids, it has become apparent that it is ignition fed. The power for the player is cut when i switch off, much to the kids annoyance, as they have to FF the dvd to get back to where they were when I start up again. It would be interesting to see if some models are/were built with permanent feed. (I feel another mod coming on LOL )

I turned my front and rear cigar lighters/powers sockets into permanent feed so that I could charge things when I wasn't in the car. I think you'll find that they are all ignition feed, front and back and on all models

Yep, hence why I converted mine - but ferking hell, what a job!!! Had to remove the whole central console (front and back) central dash surround/footwell cover and glovebox to let me get an easy routing of the wires from the fusebox. I should have taken a pic at the time as I don't intend having all that stuff out again in a hurry!! LOL

Are the lighter sockets addresable via the plug in computer at VX dealers, so as to make them permenantly fed?

LOL - well, erm, I haven't really tackled the engine to any great degree - and I think I'll probably leave it at that!!! LOL

I wish I'd taken a pic at the time of doing the rewiring, as I also ended up taking out the entire rear seats (including the centre one that flips round). I had an annoying squeak (from the seat area) that I wanted to track down so printed the instructions from TIS (what a godsend! LOL) and got to work. So by the time I was finished the car interior looked somewhat bare!!! I had to nip to Halfords for something, while the seats were out and the car definitely felt spritelier with all that weight out!! LOL. ALso took the opportunity of getting a mate round who cleans houses/carpets et and got him to do the carpet in the back now that it was all accessible!
