Default Is This a Good Deal?

Just been down to my local vx dealers today, ive decided to go for a 1.9 cdti 150 instead of the V6 as they are easier to find! the salesman there had a new shape vectra design cdti 150 in star silver on a 55 plate 3 months old! he said its a demonstrator and will be up for sale beginning of january with 2yrs 9 months warranty for £11995 this seems like a good price! should i be putting down a deposit?

where does the design come in the grand scheme of things, is it as well specced as an sri? If it was an sri i would have snapped his hand off, not sure how the design compares, somebody else shud be able togive ya a better answer than me.

its an ok price but to be honest, design spec is just the next step up from LS. Youve then got SXI and Elegence which split off to either sporty or luxury, followed by Elite and Sri (no GSi i believe) which are the flagships.

At the end of the day we are talking about a vectra here, a mass market car, 75% of sales go to fleets so you can imagine how many are going to be around on dealers forcourts.

To give you an idea, i paid £11995 for a 9 month old Cdti Elite. At the same time he was trying to offload a 3 month old sxi on me (cdti again) with 3K miles for £10995.

If you really want a facelift and dont mind the spec, go for it as its a good price. If you can afford to wait a few more months, you'll pick up an sri or elite for the same cash.

Have a little play with the network Q scheme on the vauxhall site - and have a look at the stock items if there isnt one at a dealership that fits the bill. You can often be lucky and bag a bargain!

I have to agree, either the Elite or the SRI are the models to go for, depending on weather your preference is for all the toys or a more sporty look and ride.

Looking on Network Q for you.. and they have mucked the site up - loads of pre-facelifted Vectras listed as 'New Vectra' by mistake makes it impossible to know if they are pre or post facelift.

That makes the dealer's one seem competitive, though the Estate is a bargain - depending on pre-post facelift.

Says it’s a 55 plate so you’ve gotta assume it’s a facelift one. Exclusiv spec is quite good I think?. Only Elite is £23K…. So a few months yet before they drop to £12k
