    Angry Drivers Door

    im getting a warning on the display saying my drivers door is open , but its not , the roof ights are stayig on and the central locking wont lock when i press the button on the door ......... all advise /pics welcome

    Sticky sensor, I'm not sure where it is, but I think it's on the B piller iirc, have a look and push it in and out a few times. hth.

    its just the push sensor thing on the front door take it out an give it a clean your need a torx bit set

    It'll be the slam plate (or whatever it's called) - the bit on the B pillar that the door lock clicks into. Sounds like it needs adjusting a small bit to stop that. Do it in small amounts until the light stops coming on.

    Not sure what he meant by push sensor. As far as I'm aware the door closed sensing system works on an electrical contact principle, hence the bit about adjusting the slam plate. I'd certainly try that first, that's what I did when mine popped up one day on the tailgate.

    Could be Ste, buried inside - certainly not easily visible. Maybe once you pop off the two large Torx bolts on the door lock (possibly what Danny was referring to) it'll be visible. My money's still on a small adjustment to the striker plate though.

    was a build up of sticky old grease in the lock mech this has aswitch in it , i blasted it with brake cleaner then gave it max with a tin of lube , worked a treat , thanks for all the pointers

    glad your sorted steve,when this happened on my last veccy c,they changed both the front locks under warranty and the key fobs?
