    Default Mute button

This has been bugging me for a while, so I thought its time to get it off my chest . . .

Why on earth did the CD30 designers decide that the mute button would be the same as the on/off button, but have to be held in for 2 seconds? Who the h.ll is going to mute the unit when its quicker to just switch it completely off using the same button? How stupid is that?

Also, there's no mute capability on the steering wheel controls, only a volume control that in my opinion is not responsive enough, i.e. takes ages to wind the volume up or down.

This is completely different to my veccy B which did have a mute button on the steering wheel, and had an overly sensitive volume adjustment!

    Whew, that's better!

    lol.

Its the same on all of them i think.

The only advantage i can see with the mute is that when playing an MP3 CD it takes a while to find the track again when you turn it on.

Probably a good reason for not using the mute, then!

Some head units just drop the volume to a minimum level, rather than muting it entirely, so you can still hold a phone conversation (hands-free, of course) but the music still plays very softly.

The only advantage of mute, IMHO, is you can mute the radio, and have Traffic Programmes interupt your silence

For some reason, they don't work when you turn it off altogether
