Anyone got Sky sports?

Anyone got sky sports? The missus has been dead against getting sky+ (waste of money bla bla bla) but at st James park last night watching 'the Match' she said 'if you want sky so we can watch this you can have it' as I think she'd have liked to have seen the build up etc.

I only want it to watch live premiership games and the discovery channel so my question is...

Do you actually see live premiership games on sky sports?

Sky + is the mutts nuts Andy, I don`t know how I lived without it, And you can get a good deal out of them if you persevere, I got mine for £40.00, the new 80gb box + free installation .

I wasn`t really built for sport so don`t have them, just the movies & stuff, so can`t help with the original question sorry dude, But you NEED sky+ .....

Totally agree with Bainie - Sky + is essential even if you only watch a wee bit TV - at least then you can actually watch something you want to see (and not get interrupted by the phone/door/demand to fix daughters PC again).

We got the new 160Gb - its awesome!

Oh yes - the footie - yes they DO have Premiership games on that I can watch (I have the sports pack but not the special premiership one) - usually a couple a week I think - sometimes more.

i was gonna plump for the variety and info mix so i get sky one and discovery, and add on the sports pack. Thats £36 a month. Sky world which has all the channels is £42 so i may see if she will go for that.

currently £49 fo rthe sky+ box (dont know what model) and free installation and half price rental for 3 months.

well its done.... i stood up and told here i was the boss of the household and i would do as i like and she would just have to accpet it and get on with the dishes.

Actually i just begged and begged like a sorry fool till she had seen enough and said ok just to get some peace.

Ive ordered sky+ and the sky world package. We get half price rental for 3 months so when the time comes we'll just downgrade keeping the channels we watch.

You have to keep at leats 2 premium channels or they will charge you £10 a month to use the sky+ bit, which takes it back up to nearly the same anyway. Once you start you will love it though, I have more things recorded now than I can watch, so I end up recording one thing while I am watching something I recorded earlier *lol*

Yeah, got that sorted, as im going to downgrade to just the sprts premium and lose the cinema, i end up with sports 1,2,3 & xtra which gives me more than 2 premium, according to the sales lady.

The premiership plus extra thing is a con, £5 a game or £50 a year on top of paying for sports pack!!! how do they get away with it?

And whats good at the minute then? what should we start watching? it gets installed this friday.
