    Question Help!

Does anyone know why the numberplate lamps won't go off on my car? And if they won't go off, how do I make them?

They've gone off now. I must have stood there for 2 or 3 minutes wondering why they were still on.

    m8,

    its supposed to do this

the rear lights on the car wont go out for a few mins to allow you to do what you might have to round the back........oooeeerrr

if you press the boot unlock button ( without you car lights on ) the numberplate lights will come on to indicate its unlocked and to improve visability round the back of the car during the dark hours

Had you locked the car? They come on when you unlock the boot and will go off as soon as you lock it - or after a few minutes if you don't.

Ah, BB just beat me to it. Well, I am typing on the touch screen on a Pocket PC whilst sat on the train - so it's a damn sight slower! LOL

Sounds right - front and back lights only come on for 30 secs after you flick the stalk. And as you say - only does it with the keys out and door open.

I tried locking and unlocking the car and switching the lights on and off to try and make it go off! I did open the boot to get a bag of shopping out, so maybe it was that. I went inside to put the shopping away and the light had gone out by the time I'd finished.

I still don't understand why the numberplate needs to be illuminated to see in your boot, there's a light on the inside! Bleedin' newfangled car!!
