Is it the SE or YH? Don't think you need the cheater, def don't on the SE, just the plate and leave the EGR connected![]()
Just seen yours is the SE so you don't need the cheater, put in the plate then spin the EGR so that the mech over hangs the plate to avoid fowling, still need to be connected as it still needs to work etc, but it will be fully blanked with no EML![]()
orite i see i thought that i needed the cheater to remover as the egr is faulty hence the blabking off
If its faulty then you may need it, I'm unsure, but I'd still be tempted to blank without first... Do you have the EML on now and is it def the EGR... You need to head over to the Z22SE forum, shows you how to solder it in on there if its needed![]()
ok then mate nice one ill have a look on there as well and will update when done
If the EGR isnt working then you need the cheater. The newer cheaters are plug and play so no need to solder, just unplug the egr and plug in the cheater. First off try cleaning the egr and testing it by passing 12v over pins A & E. If it doesnt pop in and out like in the vid then its ferked. HTH
What are the benefits from blanking it?
Not a great deal in a Z22SE tbh mate. The side affects would be a cleaner intake which would be very beneficial in a Z22YH and slightly worse mpg as the egr is only open when the car is cruising and not at WOT. If your egr is sooting up and sticking then blanking would obviously stop that from happening.
On YH however it should help keep the swirl flaps cleaner and free moving.
HTH.
