I wanted to be able to see mine easily when I turned around to reverse, so ended up sticking it to the shoulder of the passenger side rear seat next to the seat release lever and hiding the wiring under the shelf and then into the rear fuse box compartment. I have to remove it when I put the seat down but it isn't very often and it sticks straight back onto the plastic surface. It's an effective place as you can see the screen clearly each time you turn around.

I have, and I put mine on the top of the steering wheel shroud. Problem with that is, with the wheel half turned, the spokes block the view of the display. Was thinking of trying it in the right corner of the dash top.

I've been looking at these kits after missing my factory PP, will it not go in the cubby hole?... Sure someone put similar in the interior alarm sensors, looked good

Yep - lots of threads on this subject. I fitted on of the ones that was £8.99 a couple of months ago, with the distance and left/right bar graph displays. I put the display in the cubbyhole under the heater controls. Drilled a hole in the back of the cubby unit to allow the cable to pass through and ran the cable under the centre console, past the gearstick and out under the front passenger seat across to the sill cover, then past the back seats and into the boot. Very easy - just unclip the gearstick surround and pull the gaiter up, pull out the cubby hole, ashtray and cup holder and unclip the rear seat side bolster enough to get the cable past. No tools needed
