My 06 Vectra CDTI was in...average condition when i picked it up. Teapot's remap has made me appreciate the car so much more so noticing the nice weather again this morning, my day has been as follows:
1) De-badge the rear. Wasn't very problematic, hair dryer, warm water and my OLD shell card (almost used the new one d'oh). There was some marking left but was going to overcome that later.
2) Wash the car. Used the Auto Glymn full valet set. Got the pressure washer out, relatively pointless as i always have it on low pressure but hey ho. Then round i go with sponge etc.
3) Polish the car! Easiest the most time consuming. Also ended up being the most frustrating. After doing panel after panel and finishing over with a micro-fibre cloth, with 3/4 done my father walks out the door with probably the worst comment at that point:
"Why aren't you using the electric polisher i bought the other week?"
Quite clearly, i wasn't aware of such purchase. Ho-hum.
4) Polish the inside! Also aimed to get the smell of smoke which was still lingering from the previous owner (only purchased a month ago). I'd had the front seats valeted and that seemed to get rid of the smell from them so i used the interior fabric shampoo from my set on the rear seats, then sprayed with fabric freshener and left to dry.
Here's a picture. I'm pretty happy. It's easier for me to appreciate seeing what it was like before (maybe @littleteapot might do too!).
