It is very minor,I was wondering if it really warranted a claim at one point but there is damage that wasn't there when I left home so its got to be done
Yep, that's the way I would see it. You only want the car back as it was.
I have personally found a claim wether it's your fault or not will affect your insurance. ie i scrapped my car on a boulder that was placed directly behind my car by a builder so I phoned my insurance just to inquire but no claim made and this was logged as an accident, when I took a renewal out I did not mention this as felt it was was only an enquiry.
week later I get a phone call saying I had not declared a previous accident and the amendment sent the premium up. I did have 3 in total.
Trouble is your insurance will show you've had a claim andgo up next year
Hope you don't get any probs from your own insurance when you come to renew. Even though it a no fault depending on what company it can increase your premium (you do need to tell them).

Well it was damage I couldn't repair so its had to be done I do realise that insurance companies seem to make it up as they go along these days, but if I get any grief off them come renewal day II'll bin them for another company I usually change every year anyway
