    Default Lowering springs Confused

    Hi all,
bit of a newbie to lowering.
car Vectra c 150cdti design with xp kit 18inch wheels 235/40/18.
been reading alot on lowering springs, my rear spring has gone.
recently had the rear arb bushs changed, rear drop links, upper control arms, blisten b4s.

I would like your advice on whether to choose
    Amax springs made by spax?
    Fk springs
    LO 45 springs
    H&R springs etc

and do I need under 1000kg or over 1001kg

    Many thanks

Don't go near A-Max mate, stay well clear as @paulvectrac will tell you

Go with either LO springs, H&R's or Eibachs

Under 1000kg is what you need

    Its the axle weights

For example, i've got v6 cdti which is heavier front end than say a 1.9 cdti like yours

A-Max are fairly shocking, in fact I've got some waiting to go back to EuroCarParts as they sent me A-Max instead of Apex!!

If I put the higher weight springs on what would the difference be? going through most websites it says mine is 1000kg plus ... Shift+R improves the quality of this image. CTRL+F5 reloads the whole page.

Thats weird because when I bought my Apex ones they had 2 part numbers

One's for under 1000kg and ones over 1000kg, obviously mine showed the heavier ones due to the v6

Take a look on the sticker thats on the inside of the drivers door for the weight, I think its the 3rd figure down

Actually thinking on I think the load for the front axle on the 1.9 150 is 1080kg so you will need the over 1000kg ones

Just been looking around and motorsportworld are doing the H&R 40mm springs (so probably more like 25mm lower than a factory lowered SRi) for £158 with a tenner delivery - link: http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/det...-2&PID=1071379

Dunno if they're a good retailer or not though, I've never dealt with them.

I put H&Rs on my Signum Design, similar to stock SRi suspension and my car looks so much better now. Well made springs too - I can recommend them and at the price you've seen them, I wouldn't bother with anything else.
