you may be like mine im with nationwide and can take 2 months
but im no really sure its a break as they just up your payments slightly to cover it
@leemarksmith might know this am not sure who ue works for but hes in banking
ohhh right wouldn't be able to afford them to up my payments
?Have you made any overpayments at all,if so then almost certainly you can take a payment holiday.
no over payments
I'd ring them mate, and explain your situation, I'v missed payments on the mortgage before when our lass lost her job, They agreed to me paying a little extra each month to catch up.
I used to work for Halifax, they allow upto a six month payment holiday. Obviously the amount you owe accrues interest during the holiday. Payments then restart after the "holiday" as normal. Essentially it just extends the term if the mortgage
I work in banking/financial services. They should be able to arrange something for you, the two most common arrangements are to wother give you a 2 month break, and extend the term by two months or add the two "missed" payments over the remoainder of the existing term.
Ring them sooner rather than at the last minute, and don't cancel the payment method they are normally paid by (which of anythong goes wrong shows you had the DD/SO in pkace and they didn't take the payments, as opposed to looking like you cancelled the facility for them to take payments).
I rang them last night explained my situation and they point blank said NO!!!! so looks like im stumped for now or I could set up a fb appeal page lol instead of donating £2 a month for foreign children pauls divorce appeal £3 donation required pmsl
